Roy, of Sandbach, passed away peacefully on 20th July 2026 aged 73 years. He was the beloved Husband of Lyn, cherished Dad to Sarah, Jane and Christopher, and much loved Grandad to Ella and Ruby. The funeral service will take place at the Birches Crematorium on Tuesday 25th August 2026 at 2pm. Following the service, family and friends are warmly invited to join the family for a celebration of Roy’s life at Sandbach Masonic Hall.
Roy disliked black. More importantly, he never wanted anyone to feel uncomfortable and was never one for being “suited and booted” himself. The family kindly invite you to wear whatever you feel best reflects the way you wish to remember and honour Roy. If you would like to include a dash or splash of colour, we know Roy would have appreciated it. Nothing will be considered too bright or inappropriate – your presence is what matters most.
The family respectfully request family flowers only. For those who wish to make a donation in Roy’s memory, they will be in support of the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital Charity. This is the hospital where Roy fought his final battle, and where the dedicated staff showed exceptional care, compassion, and determination in doing everything they could to save his life.
